More Than Cancer
Because you are so much more than cancer tropes, medical systems, and pharmaceuticals-and remembering that lets you feel alive again.
This is your space to reimagine what life can look like with or after cancer without pressure to perform.
You had the support you needed during treatment.
Regular medical check-ups, casseroles, and a free pass on societally acceptable time for rest.
But where did all of that support go when treatment ended?
↓
Doc, “See you in 3 months!”
Friend, “Yay! Life can go back to normal now!”
Employer, “See you at work on Monday! There is much to catch up on!”
Insurance, “You owe $1,367,501.04 by Tuesday.”
And then our inner voices...
Shame, “What’s wrong with me? Why am I depressed now?”
Inner Critic, “You’re fine. You don’t need more help.”
Overwhelm, “How is this even going to work?”
The medical system and toxic positivity have led you to believe that something is wrong with you if you’re not singularly celebratory after treatment.
I assure you, there is nothing wrong with you for feeling anxious, angry, or afraid after everything that you have gone through (and perhaps continue to go through).
In fact, hooray! (Not for cancer).
This means that your nervous system is doing her job.
It is normal to remain vigilant after months or even years of being poked and prodded, pumped with mind- and body-altering medications, touched by strangers, and going at the frenetic pace of hospitals.
Of course your nervous system isn’t ready to slow her protective role just yet.
She’s been in survival mode and had your back the best way your nervous system knew how–and now it’s time to get the support you need for this chapter of your journey so you can shift away from survival and into ease, joy, and purpose.
Maybe you've tried support groups
…where conversation centers around medical updates and managing symptoms. Maybe you have a therapist, but outside of that hour each week, it feels like no one in your life really gets it. Maybe you’ve tried just moving on, because you should be grateful.
Meanwhile, where do you go to talk about….
Returning to work and realizing you can't keep up with the pace you once did.
Navigating relationships when the people you love don't understand why you're still struggling.
Asking yourself whether you even want to return to the life you had before cancer.
Or laughing about how you ruined your favorite pair of jeans because you couldn’t make it to the bathroom in time.
Now, you need…
Time to reconnect with yourself outside of medical necessity
Space to say the dark thoughts out loud and release the shame clinging to them
Somatic techniques to integrate the traumatic sh*t that just happened
People who just get it - no explanation or backstory needed to justify your craziness
Nervous system support to recalibrate your sense of self and safety, at your pace
Touchstones of joy, pleasure, and grounding to remain connected to the world around you
Cancer is the club you never chose to join.
More Than Cancer is the club you choose. A space to scream, “F*CK CANCER!” with all the other fierce baddies who choose to join too, as we discover together how to build something new.
We are so much more than cancer, and sometimes we just need to remind ourselves of that without erasing all that has happened or ignoring all that gets triggered.
This is our space to come together with cancer as a common force that has impacted our lives in countless ways. Whether or not we are survivors, living with incurable or metastatic cancer, we all understand what it’s like to feel betrayed by our bodies and how disorienting it is to step out of the metaphorical cave of cancer survival to find ourselves blinking at familiar landscapes that now seem totally foreign.
In More Than Cancer…
We make room for all you've been carrying.
Explore what it means to live in the body and life you have today. Not the body you had before or the life you thought you'd be living. The one you're in NOW.
You can grieve and laugh. Feel angry and hopeful. Need rest and crave adventure.
You can show up exactly as you are, without performing gratitude, pretending you're okay, or having to explain why cancer is still affecting you.
This isn't about fixing yourself. It's about finding relationship with yourself in the company of women who understand what it takes to do that after cancer.
Surviving cancer and figuring out how to live with what’s happened are two very different things.
Here, we're not rushing to find the silver lining or pretending a love-and-light, positive-vibes-only attitude makes everything better.
We're making space to ask honest questions:
What possibilities arise when I stop measuring my life against who I used to be?
What does my body need from me today?
What do I actually want to return to?
What no longer fits? And what do I actually want?
Through honest conversation, somatic practice, and a little curious experimentation, we'll notice the patterns we've fallen into, listen to what our bodies desire, and try on different ways of moving through life without urgency or expectation.
You deserve room to discover what living feels like for you now.
Hi, I'm Jillian. I know this part of cancer because I'm living it.
I live with multiple myeloma, an incurable blood cancer. In November 2021, after 9+ years of being homebound and bedbound with chronic illness, I received a stem cell transplant (SCT) that has since allowed me to re-engage with life in vertical ways again.
This doesn’t mean returning to the life I had before illness, nor does it imply that it has been an easy process coming back to the world again either.
I’ve had to learn to trust a body I thought had betrayed me, loosen my grip on the illusion of control, and make room for fear and uncertainty while seeking ways to spark joy again.
Somatic work helps me stay in relationship with myself, notice and respond to triggers, and move forward without abandoning myself.
Today, I'm a trauma-informed Resilience Coach and Speaker, bringing both professional training and lived experience into the spaces I facilitate.
I created this community because I know how lonely and confusing it can feel when the immediate crises have simmered, and you're still trying to figure out how to live with everything that's happened.
I know how much becomes possible when you realize that you don't have to do this all alone.

You're welcome here. This space isn't just for people who are finished with treatment or cancer-free. It's for women living with or in the aftermath of cancer who are out of immediate crisis and beginning to explore what living looks like now.
-
If you're newly diagnosed and navigating the immediate crisis of treatment decisions, appointments, and everything that comes with it, individual support may be a better fit until you're ready for a community focused on living with and beyond cancer.
-
Then don't! Seriously. Join from bed, listen quietly, participate when you have capacity, or step back when you need to. There's no attendance requirement, homework, or falling behind. But you don’t need to wait until you have the energy to receive support; we want to meet you where you are.
-
Absolutely not! Cancer brings us together, but it's not the only thing worth talking about. In fact, the desire to be defined by more than our experience with cancer is why we’ve come together in this group. We'll explore relationships, boundaries, identity, pleasure, grief, possibility, and the ordinary and extraordinary parts of being alive. All of the parts that are More Than Cancer.
-
No. This is a facilitated community offering connection, somatic practices, reflection, and practical tools. It's not psychotherapy, medical care, or a place for clinical treatment advice.
-
You don't have to share before you're ready. You're welcome to listen, observe, and participate in ways that feel comfortable for you.
-
Who decided that? The impacts of cancer are evolving and show up at different times in life. You don't have to prove that you're struggling enough to deserve support.
-
Both monthly gatherings will have replays available on our private platform. You can also connect in the community and explore the resource library whenever it works for you.
